Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a form of healthcare that utilises hands on manual therapy to enhance the bodies natural ability to heal and function optimally. Utilising a range of techniques to diagnose and treat different biomechanical and musculoskeletal conditions.
Osteopaths have a wholistic approach to health care, viewing the body as a unit and treating the whole person. We factor in lifestyle, diet, stress and psychosocial aspects when determining the appropriate treatment and management for each person.
A range of hands-on techniques, including joint articulation, soft tissue massage, dry needling, joint manipulation, stretching, and more may be used to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance the body's self-healing mechanisms. Embracing a patient-centered philosophy, Osteopaths also endeavour to identify and treat the underlying causes of health issues, promoting holistic well-being for individuals of all ages.
Pelvic Health Osteopathy
Pelvic Health Osteopathy involves the treatment and management of a range of pelvic health and pelvic floor related conditions. Pelvic health complaints are very common in all populations. It is suspected that 50% of people who have given birth will have some degree of prolapse and 51% of women, 14% of men and 28% of elite athletes experience urinary incontinence at some point in their life and over 50% of pregnant women experience low back pain. Our practitioners understand the significance of pelvic health in overall wellbeing, addressing a wide spectrum of conditions such as pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, postpartum issues and musculoskeletal dysfunctions affecting the pelvis.
We assess not only the pelvic floor directly, but also look at whole body influences including, posture, hormones, lifestyle factors, diet, exercise, and biomechanical changes. Both internal and external techniques may be used to assess and treat the pelvic floor. As well as bladder retraining techniques, tools to connect to your pelvic floor, pelvic floor muscle training and lifestyle modifications and advice.
We understand that you may be apprehensive prior to your pelvic health appointment and aim to provide a treatment that is caring and sensitive to your concerns. We strive to create a comfortable environment where you feel safe to have a judgment free conversation and express your health goals.

Dry Needling
Dry needling involves the insertion of thin needles into specific trigger points or tightened bands of tissue within a muscle. It is used to release muscle tension, reduce pain, improve range of motion and stimulate tissue healing.
At our clinic it is always used as part of a wider treatment plan.
Cupping
Cupping is a traditional technique that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction gently draws the skin and superficial muscle layer into the cup, promoting blood flow, reducing muscle tension, and relieving pain. Cupping is often used to treat various conditions such as muscle pain, inflammation, and stress.
